The Greatest Touring Band Ever?
Grateful Dead Blog Post
In May of 1977, the Grateful Dead played what is widely regarded as their best concert with 20 songs played at Cornell 05/08/77. Now, the next night they played 21 songs Buffalo, NY 05/09/77.
You can correctly say that in two nights the Dead played 41 songs; you can also say the Dead played 39 songs, and you are still correct.
After truckin’ up to Buffalo, the Dead repeated Brown Eyed Woman and Estimated Prophet from the night before, and then played 19 different songs. Epic two night run!
